love rooted - 2010

love rooted - 2010

Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we learn. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudices and the acceptance of love back in our hearts. Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life. Meaning does not lie in things. Meaning lies in us. (Marianne Williamson)

artemis - 2010

Artemis, huntress of the moon, make my aim true. Give me goals to seek and
the constant determination to achieve them.
Grant me communion with nature, allow me to live surrounded by plants and
animals that I can grow, protect and nurture.
Allow me the strength and wisdom to be my own mistress, not defined by the
expectations of others.
And sustain my sexuality to be as yours — wild and free as nature itself.

hummingbird - 2010

hummingbird - 2010

The hummingbird shows us how to re-visit the past for the purpose of releasing it instead of being caught in a permanently backward flight pattern. It also helps us to see that if we step aside we may see our life differently. Hummingbird teaches us to transcend time, to recognize that what has happened in the past and what might happen in the future is not nearly as important as what we are experiencing now. It teaches us to hover in the moment, to appreciate its sweetness. (Constance Barrett Sohodski)

human - 2010

human - 2010

A human being is part of a whole, called by us the ‘Universe’ a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts, and feelings, as something separated from the rest a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. (Albert Einstein)

kundalini - 2010

kundalini - 2010

Kundalini and the chakras are not located in the physical body. They belong to the etheric body, but they have corresponding points within the physical body. It is like when you feel love and you put your hand on your heart. Nothing like ”love” is there, but your heart, your physical heart, is a corresponding point. (Osho)

jalal ad-din rumi - 2010

those who don't feel this love pulling them like a river, those who don't drink dawn like a cup of spring water or take in sunset like supper, those who don't want to change, let them sleep.
this love is beyond the study of theology, that old trickery and hypocrisy. If you want to improve your mind that way, sleep on.
I've given up on my brain. I've torn the cloth to shreds and thrown it away.
if you're not completely naked, wrap your beautiful robe of words around you, and sleep.

yin yang - 2010

yinyang - 2010

Both yin and yang cannot exist without each other or stand alone. They depend on each other for definition and can only be measured by comparing themselves to each other. They achieve a state of balance by mutual control and inhibition.
The balance is neither static nor absolute, but is maintained within certain limits. When one aspect goes to an extreme, it will undergo a reverse transformation into the opposite character.
Whatever is happening is occurring in this play of opposites. We can view it from a yin side or the yang side. We can see it as right or wrong, as good or bad, as beautiful or ugly, the list goes on to infinity. Which side we view it from determines how we feel about what we are seeing. If what we are seeing is in alignment with our beliefs and conditioning, we like it, if not, we don't.
If however, we view it from the mid-line of the circle or more expansively from the outer rim of the circle viewing the whole, we see everything as just this play.
Each side is dependent and gives rise to the other and each exists within the other. Nothing is good or bad, it’s our point of view that makes it so for each of us individually.
The answer to peace and happiness lies in the degree to which we love and accept ourselves. What we cannot accept in ourselves, we cannot accept and love in another. When we stop projecting all of our self-hatred onto others and begin the process of healing into self-acceptance, the end of war becomes a real possibility.

Gaia - 2010

Gaia - 2010

We lose our souls if we lose the experience of the forest, the butterflies, the song of the birds, if we can't see the stars at night. there is need for awareness that the mountains and rivers and all living things, the sky and its sun and moon and clouds all constitute a healing, sustaining sacred presence for humans which they need as much for their psychic integrity as for their physical nourishment. Dhanurasana - 2010

Dhanurasana - 2010

when we use our energy together, we are strong as friends, as family, as a global or as a cosmic unity. in reality we are one consciousness. we feel as a individual but when we observe us and our sourrounding more closely we realize that everything in the universe is consciousness. part of you is localized and part of you is nonlocal, and connected to everything. you are the universe, located in your body. our problem is that we are separated from the source as long we define ourself with our ego.
